Rev. Wilson is an itinerant Elder (ordained) in the African Methodist Episcopal Church (AMEC). She is also the full-time Community Organizer for the Presbytery of Chicago, Presbyterian Church (USA), where she works collaboratively with leaders throughout the presbytery and respective communities to increase congregational vitality and to enhance mission via building sustainable partnerships. She has served in Christian ministry for over twenty-five years, at all levels of her denomination: senior pastor, Episcopal district administrator, Chicago Conference Board of Ministerial Training, General Board member — and , facilitator in spiritual formation and leadership development for church growth.
Her first career was in the child welfare (foster care supervisor) and federal criminal justice systems, where she gained experience in enforcement, courts and corrections. She has Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees in criminal justice and justice administration, respectively. She earned the Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from McCormick Theological Seminary. She is committed to professional development and lifelong learning evidenced by her extensive continuing education experience in victim advocacy, group facilitation, community organizing, nonprofit management, conflict mediation, healthy congregations, systems and organizational development (change and transitions).
Barbara enjoys the privilege of the diversity of contexts in her work with institutions, organizations, groups and individuals in the Chicago area and throughout the nation. Her hobbies include music of all genres, especially jazz, a good cup of coffee, travel and dialogue. Mutuality and reciprocity are greatly valued as she seeks to consistently connect being with doing. Barbara is a widow of more than two decades and embraces singleness as another opportunity for transformation. She endeavors to live with integrity and joy.

Rev. Wright is an audit Partner at Johnson Lambert LLP, where she serves as the partner in-charge of their Chicago office. She leads the firm’s Midwest not-for-profit and employee benefit plan practices. Ms. Wright is active in her profession as well as the not-for-profit community. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Technical Standards Committee, the IL CPA Society Ethics Committee and a board member of the Association Forum of Chicagoland.
